Beginners update

Our latest intake of beginners have hit the halfway point. They are having fun and learning lots of steps and formations.  This week they danced the Old Man of Storr and Lady Catherine Bruce’s Reel as well as having their first introduction to the pas de basque step.

Tuesday dances

Tonight saw Morag return for a session of teaching. It is good to have her back . After a good warm-up and some step polishing we enjoyed dancing Happy Returns, Within a Mile of Edinburgh Town, Joe MacDiarmid, Edina’s Pride, Follow Me Home and Maxwell’s Rant.

Our happy group of beginners met again to further their dancing experience. Diagonal reels of 4, strathspey travelling and setting steps plus setting (strathspey time) and turning corners two hands (all in 4 bars) featured in this weeks lesson.
