Scots on The Rocks is pleased that Mara Dobrini will be our guest teacher and MC for our Workshop/Social on 23 May 2015 – An Afternoon and An Evening with Mara Dobrini.

We had a lovely surprise tonight, Margaret from NZ dropped in to dance with us. Ruth then, on this warm and very humid Sydney evening , took us through The Reivers, The Linn of Dee, Out on the Green, The Raven’s Dance, Quarries Jig and The Five Lums.

Welcoming Ruth who will be taking the classes for the next two months we danced Lassies of Dunce, Tribute to Miss Milligan, Castles in the Air, Back to the Fireside and Well Done Jack.

Jan finished her teaching with us last night and we had a very enjoyable evening. We danced – For Lack of Silver, Gaelforce Wint, The Saltire Strathspey, The Missing Turn, Calanais Stones and Seton’s Ceilidh Band.

In January and February we get quite a few visitors as other classes have not started for the year yet. Dances were (with some step practice exercises) – The Sorcerer, Bristol Fashion, The Dancers Wedding, Clutha and The Miller of Sessine. Thank you Jan, we enjoyed our evening with you.
